"How are you?" - Comic Exhibition

From Tuesday, 6 October to Sunday, 1 November 2026 the Gedenkstätte KZ Hinzert / Landeszentrale für politische Bildung Rheinland-Pfalz (LpB) presents the comic exhibition "Wie geht es Dir?" Zeichner*innen gegen Antisemitismus, Hass und Rassismus.

48 artists spoke with 60 people who are affected by antisemitism, hate and racism or who engage with anti-human ideologies. The very different, moving but also encouraging perspectives, recorded by an impressive selection of the most important German-language comic storytellers, were first shown in 2024 at the International Comic Salon Erlangen.

The exhibition can be visited free of charge until 1 November, from Tuesday to Sunday (Tue–Fri 9 - 17, Sat 14-17, Sun 11-17, on 1 November 14-17). Registration at info@gedenkstaette-hinzert.lpb.rlp.de.

About the exhibition and how it came about

"How are you?" – a simple question, yet in the wake of the suffering caused by the Hamas attack on Israel on 7 October 2023 and the Israeli military strikes in the Gaza Strip, there is speechlessness and a deep societal division in Germany as well.

The artists Hannah Brinkmann, Nathalie Frank, Michael Jordan, Julia Kleinbeck, Moritz Stetter, Birgit Weyhe and Barbara Yelin, accompanied by Véronique Sina and the International Comic-Salon Erlangen, therefore launched the project "Wie geht es dir? Zeichner*innen gegen Antisemitismus, Hass und Rassismus" at the beginning of 2024. 48

cartoonists spoke with 60 people who are affected or who deal with anti-human ideologies, including personal acquaintances and public figures such as Meron Mendel or Seyran Ateş.

They published the conversations weekly on a comic page at www.wiegehtesdir-comics.de and on Instagram @comics_wiegehtesdir. They reflect fear and frustration as well as hope and willingness to engage in dialogue. Visitors will also be able to become active themselves: they can answer "How are you?" at the activity station

or ask the question to others and record the results in comics, letters or drawings, which they can share in the memorial or take with them.
