Kevelaerer Krippenmarkt

Description
The Kevelaerer Krippenmarkt is a long-standing tradition held every year during Advent in the historic center of Kevelaer. From November 28 to December 21, 2025, Kapellenplatz, Luxemburger Platz, and Forum Pax Christi transform into a festive setting of artisanal stalls, Christmas decorations, and culinary offerings. Visitors can discover handcrafted nativity figures, fragrant soaps, and a variety of gift ideas. Local specialties like kale and suckling pig are served alongside hot drinks such as mulled wine and punch. A special highlight is the live nativity scene at Forum Pax Christi, which has impressed for over 30 years with life-size figures and live animals. On Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, the well-known nativity play by Karl Timmermann is performed there. Additionally, a varied music program featuring local and regional artists enriches the event. The atmospheric lighting and thoughtful decorations create a welcoming ambiance that make the Kevelaerer Krippenmarkt a unique experience during the Christmas season.
