Description

Each year on the first Advent weekend, the Christmas Market in Marsberg welcomes the festive season with its charming village of huts on the church square. The market opens on Friday. The huts, beautifully decorated for Christmas on the church square, get visitors into the spirit of the most wonderful time of the year just before the first Advent. The stalls offer everything associated with the Advent season. On the Christmas market stage, visitors can enjoy a varied program featuring performances by schools, preschools, and music clubs showcasing what they have practiced.

Saturday is dedicated to the "Festival of Lights," centered around lighting the Advent candle at the Bilstein Tower. Youth firefighters from the city area carry torches to the Bilstein Tower. Visitors of the Festival of Lights and the Christmas Market can then watch from the church square as the Marsberg landmark slowly begins to glow red.

On Sunday, St. Nicholas traditionally makes an appearance. Additionally, the downtown shops are open from 1 PM to 6 PM.
