Schierke Festival of Lights

From November 28, 2026, to January 3, 2027, Schierke turns into a festively illuminated village every Friday and Saturday as well as on the Christmas holidays. Historic buildings, Mäuseklippen, the toboggan run, and over 30 other houses and landmarks are beautifully lit up in vibrant colors.

The town shines with a cozy glow and invites you to take winter evening strolls. Changing food options and small events—from the opening of the Christmas nativity scene to a 90-minute live television broadcast by Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk, as well as concerts and a Christmas market—create a warm, Advent atmosphere.

The new Christmas nativity scene in the music pavilion in the spa park can be seen daily and is the centerpiece of the Schierke Festival of Lights.
