St. Martins Parade / Lantern Walk Linz

Description
Lantern walk St. Martin in the “Colorful City on the Rhine”
On Monday, November 9, 2026, the very popular St. Martin's parade will take place in Linz on the Rhine starting at 6:00 PM.
Bright children's eyes, colorful and individually crafted lanterns, and St. Martin on horseback leading the way – this year they will once again parade through the streets of the “Colorful City on the Rhine.”
The gathering and lineup for the St. Martin's parade begins at 6:00 PM at the marketplace in front of the historic town hall. The Linz fanfare will once again lead the procession through the old town and accompany it to the riverbanks. Also returning this year is the Tambour-Corps Notscheid e.V., which will provide musical entertainment together with the Linz fanfare.
The planned route is as follows:
Marketplace, Mittelstraße, Buttermarkt, Am Halborn, Neustraße, Asbacher Straße, Klosterstraße, Buttermarkt, Mittelstraße, Marketplace, Rheinstraße, Burgplatz, Rheintor with pedestrian underpass, footpath behind the start garden along the Rhine up to the St. Martin’s bonfire on the riverbank.
The Linz fire department will again distribute the popular Weckmänner to all proud lantern and torch bearers. All citizens and guests are warmly invited to join the St. Martin’s procession!
For mulled wine at the end, this year the restaurant “La Cucina” on the Rhine riverbank will take care of it.
