Tell Me a Story! Visiting the Kersten Family Haubarg

Description
Haubargs are typical farmhouse buildings of the Eiderstedt peninsula, with their tall thatched roofs standing out prominently against the flat landscape even from a distance. There used to be over 400 of these large farms on Eiderstedt, and their impressive appearance shaped the region. Today, not many of these special buildings remain, and only a few are open to the public. Maike and Stefan Kersten, true northerners themselves, fell in love years ago with the “haubarg am meer,” a historic Haubarg from 1849 in Vollerwiek, and share their passion and enthusiasm for the Haubarg through guided tours. During the tour, you will learn not only fascinating and interesting facts about this historic and protected building but also listen to the personal story of the Kersten family and how they came to own their Haubarg.
Free admission. Limited number of participants. Registration required: kersten@haubarg-am-meer.de
