"Two Gentlemen from Real Madrid" - Pfalztheater

"Two Gentlemen from Real Madrid" Comedy by Leo Meier Theater play with the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern

Away from the city's noise, two gentlemen meet. Both actually wanted to be alone and enjoy the silence of the forest. But since there are two of them, they start talking. They are surprised to discover that they are both professional soccer players. One is a forward, the other a midfielder. What a wonderful coincidence: they both play for Real Madrid! They talk about the constant fear of dying and trophies. Because they like each other and the midfielder has no plans for Christmas, the forward invites him to join him and his parents. His parents immediately take their son's new friend to their hearts, especially since they are sure the two stars share more than just a "friendship." At a funeral, they grow closer. The first tentative kiss quickly goes viral due to a secretly taken photo and becomes a hot topic at Real Madrid's next press conference. When it also threatens to come out that the forward has an offer from Paris Saint-Germain, the world-famous defender Sergio Ramos steps in to help. With great empathy and absurd humor, author Leo Meier sketches a tender utopia of a world where flying to practice on a dragon is completely normal, and where professional soccer players naturally fall in love and come out. We are presenting this soccer romance on the occasion of FCK's 125th anniversary and the 2026 World Cup, celebrating sports, love, and creative play. Incidentally, Leo Meier (*1995) originally wanted to become a professional soccer player but instead studied theater studies and philosophy in Bochum as well as acting at the Folkwang University of the Arts. His debut play "two gentlemen from real madrid" was awarded both the audience award and the SWR2 radio play prize at the 2022 Heidelberg Stückemarkt.
