Description
On Wednesday, January 6, 2026, Stoa Perchten e.V. Waging am See invite you to the traditional Waging Rauhnachts Run. The customary run takes place in the evening – at the Strandkurhaus on the beachfront promenade in Waging am See.
At the Waging Rauhnachts Run, many Percht groups ("Passen") from the region come together, parading through the night with their intricately carved masks, impressive costumes, and loud bell ringing. The Rauhnachts Run is deeply rooted in Alpine tradition: it marks the end of the Rauhnächte and, with its eerie yet beautiful figures, aims to drive away winter and evil spirits.
Spectators can look forward to an impressive spectacle – a living tradition that blends mysticism, custom, and community. The Waging Rauhnachts Run offers goosebump moments and an unforgettable experience for young and old alike.
Schedule:
1:00 PM departure at Strandwirt Waging am See
3:00 PM village square in Waging am See
