WHEN A PIECE IS MISSING – INSIGHTS INTO GRIEF SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

Description
Death, dying, and the question of what comes after – topics that also concern children and teenagers. At Leuchtturm, they find a safe space to talk about their questions, thoughts, and fears. Because no one should be left alone with these thoughts.
The exhibition shows pictures and texts by children and young people who have explored death, dying, and the afterlife in their own personal and creative way.
Another part of the exhibition was created during a group session on the theme: “Family is like a puzzle – and now a piece is missing.”
The resulting pictures tell stories of loss, change, and the emotions that can come with them. They offer insight into the minds of young people and invite you to pause, listen, and start a conversation together.
LEUCHTTURM – WE SUPPORT GRIEVING CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE E.V.
The Leuchtturm association has been supporting children, teenagers, and young adults in Detmold and the Lippe district who have lost someone close since 2013. In grief groups, one-on-one conversations, and creative activities, they find a protected space for their feelings and to connect with others affected. In addition, the organization advises families and educational institutions and carries out important educational work about dealing with grief on a volunteer basis.
