Description

At Alpenzoo Innsbruck a fascinating world of adventure and great animal encounters awaits, where you can observe animals of the Alpine region up close.

As an active, voting IUCN-Mitglied, Alpenzoo attended the World Conservation Congress 2025 and runs an IUCN conservation center for small mammals as well as a protection project for the critically threatened Bayerische Kurzohrmaus.

For children there is the Alpenzoo Care App with playful animal profiles, short films, 3D models, and interactive missions 📱.

The zoo works in European breeding programs, supports reintroductions and was involved in rewilding of Bartgeier, Waldrapp und Wisent; management and conservation staff are active in international IUCN specialist groups and Red Lists.
