Description

The Aussichtswarte Wildwiese has a distinctive tower directly behind the hut – a climbable viewpoint for families. From there you get a panorama over the Oststeiermark; in clear weather the view reaches as far as Ungarn. The tower is 36 m high and was built in 1992 from 14 tons of steel – an interesting piece of engineering heritage that’s easy to discover on a family hike.

The climb, with its 147 steps and two viewing platforms, offers you a nice challenge – especially for older children. The climb is permanently accessible and costs nothing: free admission. The Wildwiesenhütte has over 150 seats and is suitable for larger family celebrations; seasonally there are family-friendly activities like Schnitzel day on Mondays, cake buffet on Wednesdays, and a Sunday lunch menu. 🔭
