Ausstellungsraum Keltenstube

The Ausstellungsraum Keltenstube is an exhibition space directly adjacent to the guest area of the Milseburghütte and offers a unique experience focused on the Milseburg. Here you’ll find an exciting mix of analog and digital elements, including Celtic artifacts returned to their original location, along with information about the local nature and geology.

A highlight of the exhibition is the interactive 3D installation “Vistela”, which takes you on a fascinating journey through space and time. Life-sized projections of local storytellers share personal stories, sometimes even in the regional Rhöner dialect, making the experience especially vivid. 🏞️

The Milseburg itself was a Celtic refuge fort with remains of a roughly 1300-meter-long stone wall – the largest archaeological monument in the Rhön area, spanning 32 hectares. Along the Milseburg, you’ll find informational panels and drawings that explain the history of this special place during your ascent and serve as educational rest stops.

Besides the exhibition, the newly opened Milseburghütte (from spring 2026) invites you to linger. It offers regional cuisine made from high-quality products reflecting the character of the mountain – located in a building that blends harmoniously with the landscape, featuring natural materials and large windows with spectacular panoramic views.
