Description
Barockschloss Mannheim is one of the largest Baroque palaces in Europe, featuring a huge courtyard, an impressive facade over 400 meters long, and covering a total area of six hectares.
Visitors experience an accessible highlight here: virtual reality opens up the otherwise inaccessible library of Electress Elisabeth Auguste.
In the Hofmusik Experience Room, you can discover the musical Golden Age of the “Mannheim School” – with instruments, audio stations, and films.
A 3D VR tour brings 30 original stucco pieces from Elector Carl Philipp’s parade bedroom to life.
Outside, an exhibition displays contemporary photographs by Robert Ettlinger alongside historic views of the former palace gardens.
With the Palace App “Monument BW”, you can explore the palace independently and enjoy thematic tours filled with diverse stories from different perspectives.
Classical music evenings with the Philharmonic of Soloists bring Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” to you in an elegant setting.
Highlights include the Knights’ Hall as the heart of the residence, the imperial chambers for official receptions, the Electress’s library, Carl Theodor’s cultural foundations, and the sparkling Baden court silver on the princely main floor.
