Description

The Bauernmuseum Zabeltitz vividly showcases rural family life from days gone by. The historic three-sided farmstead, a community hub for over 200 years, was converted into a museum in 1981 and keeps the traditional rural lifestyle of the region alive.

You can explore fully furnished living rooms, kitchens, and bedrooms, taking a journey into the daily life of past generations. In work areas like the feed kitchen, stable, hayloft, and barn, you’ll learn about the manual processes involved in farming.

The exhibition features tools and equipment for making milk, butter, meat, bread, and honey – giving you a feel for traditional production methods.

On special family-friendly event days, there is free admission, live demonstrations, and interactive activities, such as at the season opener on May 1st, International Museum Day, or Heritage Day.

The museum is also a popular spot for school classes, after-school groups, and children’s birthday parties, where playful learning and hands-on participation are the focus.

Visits and celebrations outside the high season are also possible for families and groups, inviting you to explore and relax together in a historic setting.
