Description

The Bergbau- und Stadtmuseum combines two fascinating museums under one roof: the mining museum with original machinery and the city history museum with rotating exhibitions. Here you can dive into the fascinating world of mining and learn more about the history of the city.

Especially appealing are the interactive and educational topics about raw materials, mining techniques like drilling and blasting, the recovery and management of mining operations, as well as the veneration of Saint Barbara, the patron saint of miners. There is a special audio tour for children that explains the city’s history, mining, and the “Tiefer Stollen” in a child-friendly way.

A highlight is the virtual tour, which lets you discover the museum in a very special way. Visitors with their dogs are also very welcome 🐾.
