Description
The Botanischer Garten Berlin in the Berlin district of Lichterfelde is one of the largest botanical gardens in Germany, covering over 43 hectares. With about 22,000 different plant species, it is the second largest garden of its kind worldwide. It is part of the Free University of Berlin and has the status of a central facility independent of any faculty. The garden and the attached Botanisches Museum Berlin attract half a million visitors each year.
