Description

Burg Dringenberg is a well-preserved medieval hilltop castle dating from 1318 to 1323 that houses a museum run by the Heimatverein Dringenberg e.V. There, you can gain lively insights into local history and traditions.

The castle and the museum vividly tell the story of the town of Dringenberg, which was founded in the early 14th century by Prince-Bishop Bernhard V. zur Lippe of Paderborn.

In addition to the castle itself, you can also visit the nearby historic buildings: the former tithe barn, a Gothic parish church with a sturdy defensive tower, and the renovated town hall. These sites strikingly demonstrate the importance of the community in the past.
