Burg Staufeneck
Description
Burg Staufeneck sits on a hill and offers wide panoramic views – a great place for families to explore. 🏰
A highlight: the 27-meter-high keep can be climbed (reopened 1926) – a real tower experience for children.
Large sections of the original medieval masonry have been preserved, so you can explore authentic castle structures and tell long-standing stories (founding year unclear: 1080 or 1240). The castle has been part of «Straße der Staufer» since 1977 – easy to combine with a visit to the opposite Burg Ramsberg.
Hospitality is traditional: there has been a hotel and restaurant on the site since 1927; the current hotel opened in 2002 and shortly after received 5 stars (DEHOGA). Parents can dine in the gourmet restaurant with a Michelin star since 1991.
