Description

At Schloss Donzdorf you discover a three-story Renaissance castle with four octagonal towers – ideal for children to dream of knights and old stories. 🏰

Built in 1568 for Hans von Rechberg, the building holds centuries of history that come alive when you explore or read aloud an old watercolor view from 1856.

The baroque castle garden (1764–1765) was transformed at the beginning of the 19th century into an English landscape garden – wide, park-like areas for strolling and discovering. At the castle pond you find a wall structure with a sundial as a small thing to discover. 🌳

  • Since 1992, the castle garden has been open to the public.
  • On the ground floor there's a Venetian-style restaurant with a historic vaulted hall – a picturesque spot for a family meal.
  • Since 1995 the castle has served as the city's administrative center.
  • The building's 1568 construction history and the 1856 watercolor view give children something to talk about.
