Especially during festivals, you can watch the work on an old foot-powered potter’s wheel live. On the Sundays afterwards, you can pick up the children’s handmade pottery creations.

The surrounding forests offer lovely hiking trails, such as the premium trail P18 Tannenburg – perfect for a family-friendly afternoon. The starting point of the Werra-Burgen-Steig Hessen is the castle, a hiking trail awarded the second most beautiful in Germany in 2016, promising nature experiences for adults and kids alike 🌳.

The castle can also be rented for special occasions, whether family celebrations, medieval role-playing games (LARP), or group parties – making your next event a truly unique experience.
