Description

DDR MUSEUM THALE invites you on a special journey through everyday life in the former GDR. The exhibition presents the history and world of the GDR in chronological order up to its founding year 1949 – featuring authentic objects and informative panels that bring daily life to life.

Especially exciting for young people: A multilingual audio guide reads the information panels aloud and provides additional fascinating details directly to your smartphone. This way, history becomes an experience!

The museum is an independent, privately funded place that keeps cultural heritage alive and is very popular with visitors – ranked #4 among museums in Saxony-Anhalt according to Tripadvisor.

Visits during local cultural events, such as Walpurgis Night or May Day, turn into a special experience when unique East German vehicles gather at the museum. A visit offers you a deep insight into GDR culture with plenty of historic atmosphere.
