Museum Heineanum

Description
## Short Description
The Ornithology Museum originated from the collection of the landowner Ferdinand Heine and has a history spanning over 175 years.
## Description
Museum temporarily closed!
The Heineanum is molting
The doors of the Museum of Ornithology are currently closed. The permanent exhibition is being completely redesigned. Content and design are being rethought, scientific information updated, and digital as well as interactive elements integrated. At the same time, the museum is becoming more accessible. Starting autumn 2027, the Heineanum will return in its new "plumage."
But: The Heineanum remains active!
Educational museum projects and evening events continue during the renovation phase. You can also experience Heineanum expertise outside the museum: The special exhibition "Fabrics of Medieval Bird Worlds," developed in cooperation with the Cathedral Treasury, has been extended until January 10, 2027.
All current dates and information are always available on the Heineanum's website [www.heineanum.de](http://www.heineanum.de)
The exhibitions showcase native birds as well as birds from around the world in their full variety of shapes and colors. Other exhibition sections cover the origin and endangerment of species. Also on display are the unique Halberstadt dinosaurs (skeletons of Plateosaurus and Plesiosaurus).
