Description

The Deutsches Goldschmiedehaus is an ideal discovery spot for you: A historic timber-framed town hall from 1538, rebuilt after the war, creates a lively old-town adventure. On the façade, sandstone reliefs with playful motifs (including a monkey with a mirror 🐒) tell stories that invite children to ask questions and marvel.

In the stairwell a large moving sculpture draws every eye – the kinetic wave. There are also rotating exhibitions of modern and contemporary jewelry, often accompanied by projects with art academies that provide hands-on activities and student works. Additionally, there are archaeological finds from excavations in the former courtyard – a bonus for little archaeologists.

  • Historic timber-framed house from 1538 as a backdrop for old-town adventures
  • Sandstone reliefs with fabulous figures (including a monkey with a mirror)
  • The restored Gerechtigkeitsbrunnen with Justitia and lions – photogenic and eye-catching
  • Multi-story kinetic wave in the stairwell
  • Archaeological finds and hands-on projects with art academies
