Dino-Spuren Dinosaurierfundstelle Brilon-Nehden

Description
The Dino-Spuren Dinosaurierfundstelle Brilon-Nehden has established itself as a significant geological monument and one of the most substantial prehistoric vertebrate sites in North Rhine-Westphalia. In 1978, paleontologists discovered fossil bones of an Iguanodon in the abandoned Henke quarry. The interactive themed trail offers a comprehensive immersive experience of the Cretaceous period through QR codes and a digital app on mobile devices. It features five interactive elements, a 360° panorama of the prehistoric landscape, and a life-size 3D reconstruction of the Iguanodon. The site also includes a play area and places to rest. A replica of the discovered Iguanodon can be seen at the Brilon city museum; the original is housed at the Landesmuseum Münster.
