Description

Eppendorfer Park is a 6.4-hectare park located in the Hamburg district of Eppendorf. It was designed in 1890 as a recreational space for patients at the nearby New General Hospital, founded in 1889, which is today the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf. The green area was laid out on hilly terrain following designs by Franz Andreas Meyer, chief engineer of the Building Deputation.

Today, the park is mainly used by families because of the children's playground and the adventure playground and family center Baui, which has also been on the grounds since 1974. When there is enough snowfall in winter, a slope serves as a sledding hill.

The park is an important historic garden and is listed as monument number 20710 on Hamburg’s register of historic sites.
