Erlebnisturm Tankumsee

The Tankumsee Erlebnisturm is a spectacular outing destination in the Südheide and is located directly on the Tankumsee in Isenbüttel. With a height of 16 meters and a diameter of 12 meters, it offers three levels with 36 climbing stations of varying difficulty.

The climbing routes are not fixed, so each visitor decides which stations they want to conquer. Additionally, a giant swing (SkyFly) high up and a zipline (Flying Fox), where you are shot 200 meters out and 200 meters back across the lake, provide real thrills. For the little ones, a low ropes course with nine climbing stations offers an introductory fun experience. Adventure for the whole family!

The Erlebnisturm is located right at the beautiful Tankumsee and offers different difficulty levels for summit seekers and beginners. Once you reach the highest level, you can rightly call yourself a "hero or heroine of the climbing tower." The Erlebnisturm has a roof and can therefore also be used in moderate weather conditions. The total height is 25 meters, and up to 50 people can climb the tower simultaneously.

The high ropes area consists of three levels, 21 platforms with 36 stations. Up to 50 people can climb the tower at the same time. The low ropes area can be used by children from 1.10 m tall. Even the low ropes area is a paradise for little climbing enthusiasts, with nine stations and six platforms. This area can be conquered by up to 12 children simultaneously.

Who is allowed to climb?

From 1.40 m in height, the high ropes area may be used alone.

Visitors who come regularly improve their balance, flexibility, and strength and are able to master more difficult stations. The variety of difficulty levels combined with the possibility to choose stations yourself allows visitors to climb their very own route.

Registration

Registration can be done via email at erlebnisturm@tankumsee.de or directly at the climbing tower.

An introduction after prior registration is required and included in the price. Minors always need parental consent, which can be downloaded online. Climbing time is three hours including instruction.

If using the high ropes course, the parking ticket is discounted by €2. Please arrive at the Erlebnisturm kiosk 20 minutes before your booked appointment.

What else do we offer? Climbing can also be booked for experiential education tours, for example, to overcome fear of heights. But we offer even more! Combine your visit with a grill hut and enjoy some delicious sausages, or camp on our campsites and stay overnight. Pedal boating, bathing, swimming, playing beach volleyball, disc golf, and much more.

Viewing platform

The 180 m² viewing platform offers a magnificent view over the Tankumsee and the whole surrounding area. Bring your binoculars and discover the breathtaking views. The platform can accommodate up to 50 people and can be booked for children’s birthdays, company, and family celebrations.

Giant swing (SkyFly)

The fun really takes off here when you unclasp yourself and swing freely eight meters above the ground. This incredible XXXL experience is hard to beat and sends your adrenaline soaring.

Zipline (Flying Fox)

A real fun experience is our zipline “Flying Fox,” where you fly 200 meters out and 200 meters back across the lake. Flying up to 25 km/h over the water and back requires steady nerves.
