Description

The Fischereimuseum Unterer Aischgrund is housed in a historic 18th-century fishery building, offering a glimpse into the local Franconian fish species and the traditional pond management practiced by the grandparents’ generation 🐟.

The typical Franconian pond house served many purposes – overseeing the ponds and storing fishing equipment such as nets and traps. A striking feature is the part of the building that extends over the water, where caught fish were sorted and sold.

An educational nature trail about 2 km long runs around the pond area, with information boards explaining fishing and pond management.

Since 2022, the Fischereimuseum has been part of the TeichKulturParks, which highlights the pond landscapes and their cultural heritage in the region.
