Naturkundemuseum Bamberg
Description
Naturkundemuseum Bamberg presents the Vogelsaal, a special “museum within a museum” – one of the oldest and most beautiful natural history halls worldwide, preserving exhibits as they were around 1810.
Over a thousand colorful bird specimens enchant visitors alongside historical animal and plant specimens, fossils, minerals, wax fruits, and the famous Würzburger Lügensteine – historic fossil forgeries – creating a diverse natural experience.
The new Sauriersaal invites you on a time journey to a tropical Jurassic Europe with interactive exhibits such as a pterosaur and a dwarf long-neck dinosaur. Impressive, exceptionally well-preserved fossils from the Wattendorf excavation show life from 154 million years ago.
Current special exhibitions, for example about endangered and partly rescued animals from the Vogelhall stories, add excitement to your visit.
Themed tours offer direct encounters with selected exhibits and make the museum visit a lively experience for you as a family. A special natural and cultural experience for young and old alike! 🦕🐦
