Description

The Freilichtmuseum Schmiedleithen invites you to discover historic farmhouses and manor houses, gardens, as well as smith and servant cottages. Families can touch old crafts, explore authentic rooms and learn about the local history around the «Reich der Schwarzen Grafen» and the legendary Blaue Sense. 🪓

On the grounds there are regular family-friendly festivals – for example the Hammerschmiedfest, Herbstfest, Winterzauber and the Palatschinkenfest – with seasonal hands-on activities.

Special program items: torchlit walks and the atmospheric Nacht der blauen Sense, improvised theater, night watches and meetups for classic vehicle fans. Rarity plant markets also offer hands-on experiences, and photo documentations of past events pique curiosity.
