Description
The Heidschnuckenschäferei Senne is home to an impressive flock of about 400 ewes, as many lambs, 8 rams, and 10 to 30 goats of the Grey Horned Heidschnucke breed. These animals graze year-round on the heathlands and sandy dry grasslands of the Senne, playing a crucial role in preserving the Westphalian heath landscape. The constant browsing by the sheep prevents the heath vegetation from aging and keeps the area free of growing trees and shrubs. Additionally, the farm offers specialty products made from Heidschnucke sheep.
