Right next to the old castle ruins of Weferlingen, the journey into a long-gone world begins behind the museum door. Standing in front of the sales counter, you can imagine what medical care might have looked like in the 19th century. The original furnishings of the old village pharmacy from 1836 are still preserved – a true one-of-a-kind. You can see a distillation apparatus, a precision scale, and countless brown glass bottles with mysterious inscriptions here.

Also impressive are the historic cobbler’s workshop, exuding the rustic scent of old leather, and the extensive butterfly collection. Changing special exhibitions and guided tours are available on request. The house is supported by the Bürgerverein Weferlingen, which has been volunteering since 2008 to preserve local history and monuments and regularly organizes events. A highlight is guided tours through the museum and castle grounds, featuring panoramic views from the bergfried (castle tower).

Free parking is available around the museum and castle ruins.

## Travel Information

On the A2, take the Helmstedt-West exit. Follow the B244 for about ten kilometers. Continue through Mariental and Grasleben until you reach Weferlingen. The museum and castle ruins are located in the town center.

## Public Transportation

Buses run from Haldensleben station to the "Weferlingen, Friedrichstraße" stop. From there it’s about 400 meters via Friedrichstraße and Steinweg to the Heimat- und Apothekenmuseum.
