Description

The Heimat- und Torfmuseum Gröbenzell offers fascinating insights into the way people lived at the time Gröbenzell was founded. A special focus is on peat mining, a historically significant and tough task that involved many local families and even children.

A life-sized replica of a historic living room from the old Mösler houses invites you to explore and immerse yourself in the past. The museum is complemented by exhibitions with display panels and dioramas that clearly explain the geological formation of the peat bogs typical of the Dachau region.

The seasonal special exhibitions are especially recommended, including works by the local artist Rudolf Wöretshofer, featuring scenes from the area based on old and current photographs.
