Helmut-Zilk-Park

The Helmut-Zilk-Park in Sonnwendviertel is a large, new city park near the main train station and, at around 40,000 m², one of the largest parks in Vienna in the last forty years. In the central area there are wide lawns for picnicking, ball games, and lounging.

Suitable for families with children: 0-2 years, 2-6 years, 6-10 years, 10-12 years and 12+ years. Little shade. The trees are still young; plan for sun protection.

• The themed playground for toddlers with a tunnel slide, mud and water play, swings, and a challenging climbing tower with a large curved slide; the area is fenced.

• Large dog zone in two areas plus the Sonnwendgarten neighborhood garden with beds for community gardening.

The park also features the barrier-free ParkCafe Der Mann with a nice terrace, a small indoor play area, restrooms, and a diaper-changing station. Picnic baskets can be rented.
