Description
The Hochzeller Käsealm combines a traditional cheese dairy, a small cheese museum and an on-site animal park into a varied family outing. On a guided tour of the dairy you can try small tastings, while in the tunnel a multimedia presentation brings 350 years of mining history to life. Gold panning is fun for children and adults 🪙
The program leads to historic mining sites and shows the miners' working conditions in the tunnel; the guided tour also vividly explains political and economic background – for example the conflicts between Salzburg and Tirol and the role of the church. The return trip is by the historic Zillertaler Goldexpress.
In the farm shop you can buy products made on site: cheeses, smoked goods, fine brandies and honey.
