Holmer Sandberge

Description
Holmer Sandberge is a true natural paradise that you absolutely must discover. A hundred years ago, the landscape was characterized by open sandy areas and heathland. But farmers fought against the troublesome drifting sand and planted pine trees to make the farmland workable again.
In 2005, an area south of Holmer Sandberge was acquired where deciduous trees were planted. This restoration allowed parts of the pine forest to be cleared and the heathland to come back to life. Today, these areas provide valuable habitats for many animals, and you can enjoy the variety of plants and wildlife. Holmer Sandberge is not only a geotope but also an FFH protected area, making it ideal for nature lovers who want to experience the beauty and history of this unique landscape.
