Käfertaler Wald

Käfertaler Wald is the largest forest area in Mannheim and the most visited city forest in Baden-Württemberg 🌲. It offers you peace and fresh air – perfect for a family outing.

A variety of leisure activities await you here: a wildlife enclosure with bison, fallow deer, mouflons, and wild boars, another with red deer, and a bird park offer animal encounters. A large forest playground, a miniature golf course, several soccer fields, and a sledding hill provide fun for all ages.

There are also twelve shelters, a barbecue hut for celebrations, a sunbathing lawn, a pond with a viewing jetty, and a fitness trail. Riding paths run through the forest. Two restaurants with beer gardens take care of your refreshments.

A particularly exciting highlight is the ten stations with audio guides, where you can learn fascinating facts about the forest’s history, its development, climate change, and invasive species.
