Kunsthalle Bremen is the only privately funded museum in Germany with a comprehensive art collection spanning the 14th to the 21st century.

Between 2009 and 2011, Kunsthalle Bremen was extensively modernized and expanded, including new modern cubic additions that provide more space for diverse exhibitions.
The strong community is reflected in the approximately 9,000 members of the supporting Kunstverein Bremen, founded in 1823, which shows the lively connection of art enthusiasts to the collection.
