Description

The Lebendiges Bienenmuseum Knüllwald offers a lively experience for the whole family focused on bees and other flower-visiting insects.

Children can pet bees and even harvest honey themselves – a special, hands-on interactive experience 🐝. Adults learn fascinating facts about the biology of stinging insects and the history of beekeeping – all accompanied by coffee and bee cake.

The museum includes a garden as well as a leased area filled with flowering plants that support a diverse insect population.

Every year on International Museum Day in May, a special exhibition is held highlighting topics like beekeeping, ecology, and local insect life.

The museum was founded in 2000 in a renovated half-timbered farmhouse by a master beekeeper and a biologist who combine expert knowledge with regional traditions.
