Localbahnmuseum Bayerisch Eisenstein

Description
With more than 20 historic steam and diesel locomotives from all eras and other exhibits, you can experience real local railway history here.
The Localbahnmuseum, housed in the former locomotive shed built in 1877 in Bayerisch Eisenstein by the Royal Privileged Stock Company of the Bavarian Eastern Railway, offers an exciting tour through the history of the Bavarian local railway from 1876 to the present.
Here you will find, in addition to more than 20 historic vehicles ranging from steam to diesel locomotives and historic cars from all periods of the Bavarian local railways, a constantly expanding exhibition of artifacts from local railway history. You can admire handcars, a turntable, and railway accessories, and discover fascinating information about this old craft.
On the spacious outdoor grounds, many infrastructure elements from the steam locomotive era have also been preserved: alongside a water crane and an outdoor inspection pit, the 20-meter-long turntable is an absolute highlight.
