Description

The Luhdener Klippenturm is the oldest observation tower along the Weser mountain ridge, built in 1889 from local stone – funded by an early form of crowdfunding lottery.

From nearly 20 meters tall and 300 meters above sea level, you can enjoy a fantastic 360-degree panoramic view over the Weser Valley, Rinteln, and the surrounding hills. 🌄

Right next to the tower is an inn serving fresh, delicious food and drinks – perfect for combining hiking with a cozy break.

During Advent, the tower is festively lit up, glowing like a giant Christmas candle – a truly special and atmospheric highlight of the region.

The Klippenturm can only be reached on foot via popular hiking trails from the Luhdener Klippen or the Frankenburg ruins, making the climb a little adventure. This is a wonderful family experience with nature, exercise, history, views, good food, and festive spirit!
