Mallinckrodthof

Description
The half-timbered building of Mallinckrodthof, built in the 17th century, is surrounded by a moat with rubble stone walls. On the grounds is the "Annettentempelchen," where Annette von Droste-Hülshoff is said to have written parts of the "Judenbuche." The main house now serves as a venue for cultural events, courses, and lectures organized by the community college. A café-restaurant complements the offerings. The rose garden of the former manor house is especially worth seeing. Mallinckrodtpark, a historic park with old trees, offers expansive green areas and invites you to relax. In 1997, the tradition of gardening was revived with the redesign of the kitchen garden. A modern rose garden and a cottage garden were created. Numerous rose varieties and standard roses can be found at the baroque cowshed. The 5-hectare site also includes a playground.
