Description
Mauerpark is a park located in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg. First planted in 1990 by community initiatives, opened in 1994 according to plans by Gustav Lange, and expanded several times up until 2020, the park follows the path of the former Berlin Wall along Schwedter Straße. As a popular local recreation area, Mauerpark is one of Berlin's favorite attractions, known for its flea market and numerous street musicians. The park's construction and expansion were a complex political issue for decades, involving various community and development interests.
