Description
The Mechanische Klangfabrik displays around 150 mechanical musical instruments from the Baroque to the present day – a nostalgic listening and viewing program for families. 🎵
For children and young people aged 6 to 18 years, the tours offer live demonstrations: instruments such as orchestrions, hurdy-gurdies, music boxes, gramophones, barrel organs and portable pianos are played and their controls (punched cards, pinned cylinders) are explained. Atmospheric rooms, sound examples and playful touches bring historical moods to life; the collection comes from Erwin Rechberger and was taken over in 2005, which gives the exhibition a local history.
