Description

The Museum für Kommunikation Nürnberg takes you on a fascinating journey through the world of human communication 📡. From language and writing to the use of social media, it clearly shows how communication has evolved over time.

Experience exciting sections in the permanent exhibition featuring sounds, images, and internet technologies, plus a special area on cryptography. There are many interactive opportunities especially for families:

  • The Reading Sign for bookworms invites you to read and explore together.

  • In the workshop "Open Doors with the Mouse: Image Experiments," children create their own optical experiments like magic discs and flipbooks.

  • During the family tour "Totally cool or really strange?" you explore extraordinary exhibits such as old telephones, the historic stagecoach mobile phone, a huge television, a Chinese typewriter, and 2100-year-old artifacts.

You can also experience the historic telephone exchange in action and talk with volunteers who maintain and explain this technology. Another highlight is the Ancient Egypt exhibition, featuring a fully restored and colorfully painted burial chamber of Sennedjem, a 2100-year-old papyrus, and hieroglyphics – an exciting glimpse into ancient belief systems.
