Description
The Aschauer Natur-Freischwimmbad, which gets all its water from the groundwater of the Priental valley, lies like a small natural mountain lake, with its green water at the edge of the village at the foot of Haindorfer Berg.
From the water, you can see Hohenaschau Castle and the parish church "Presentation of the Lord" in Niederaschau, enjoy a wonderful view of the Priental mountains and towards the entrance of the Sachranger valley.
It is not a swimming pool in the conventional sense with tiles and iron stairs but a naturally sloping pebble beach. From the west, it offers a gradual entry into the cool green water, while from the east there is a pool edge clad with wood and entry aids.
Long lanes invite you to swim for sport, but there is also room in this small mountain lake for a small inflatable boat, a rubber animal, or an air mattress. The water depth at the deepest point is 1.30 meters.
For all non-swimmers, there is a clearly separated shallow area available.
Large sunbathing lawns offer plenty of space for visitors, and the trees provide enough shade for those who want to escape the blazing sun.
