Description
Naturfreibad Riepe is an outdoor pool using biological water treatment. Instead of chlorine, the water is purified naturally through filters. This makes it especially suitable for people with allergies. The water is regularly tested by the health department.
Its attractions offer fun and games for both young and old.
The pool features three interconnected areas, including a swimming zone, a non-swimmer section, and a diving area with 1- and 3-meter diving platforms. The non-swimmer area is surrounded by a small sandy beach for the little visitors.
The total water surface covers 521 m², with a water volume of 1,070 m³.
The swimmer and non-swimmer areas are separated by a floating line that still allows crossing into the deeper water. The entire water surface is bordered by piers and flower beds. On the adjacent lawn, visitors can play volleyball for some sporty fun.
The pool’s groundwater is cleaned through a bottom filter. All the pool water is sprayed over the filter material through impact nozzles, aerating and evenly distributing it across the filter surface. The water then seeps through the filter body, where physical and biological processes purify it. Drain pipes carry the filtered water to a well, from where pumps feed it through inlet nozzles into the various pool areas. Water levels are checked several times a day by sensors and topped up as needed.
An electronic system automatically regulates the facility’s operation by regularly measuring water clarity, as well as air and water temperatures.
Ice cream, drinks, and sweets are available at our kiosk. A snack bar is also located conveniently nearby.
