Parkeisenbahn Vatterode

Description
Idyllically situated by the Vatteröder Pond, Parkeisenbahn Vatterode offers a relaxing ride through nature along the field edge. The small, charmingly quirky train with its colorful cars and a locomotive modeled after the V180 series leisurely travels along the approximately 1.3 km track through the Wipper Valley. At the Wippergrund station, the locomotive is turned on a turntable, moved to the other end of the train, and true to the motto "The last will be first," it heads back.
At the track loop at Mansfeld Schleife station (Vatteröder Pond), children can play freely and enjoy the many games. Picnic areas invite you to linger.
A small, self-operated snack stand rounds off the offerings. Whether coffee & cake, sausages & beer, lemonade & cocoa – there's always something for big and little train fans.
You can reach the site by car (parking directly at Mansfeld-Schleife station) or take the Wipperliese train to the Vatteröder Teich stop.
