Description

The Planetarium am Insulaner in the Berlin district of Schöneberg is a large planetarium with 291 seats. It is located at Munsterdamm 90 – at the foot of the Insulaner hill, whose summit lies about 100 meters east, where the Wilhelm-Foerster Observatory is found. Until June 30, 2016, both institutions were operated by the Wilhelm-Foerster Observatory Association. Since July 1, 2016, they belong, together with the Archenhold Observatory in Alt-Treptow and the Zeiss Großplanetarium in Prenzlauer Berg, to the Planetarium Berlin Foundation. Since summer 2023, it has been closed for several years due to extensive construction work. Before the renovation, the planetarium welcomed six million visitors.
