Ritterburg Lockenhaus

The Ritterburg Lockenhaus exudes medieval charm and invites you on an impressive castle tour through the world of the Knights Templar and the eerie Blood Countess.

Children meet the castle ghost Baldi and the bat Betsi 🦇 and discover fascinating insights into the lives of bats in the exhibition.

The new armory “From Squire to Knight” playfully and interactively educates about the world and training of knights. Upon entry, children receive an exciting castle quiz rally and a bat passport.

The castle is home to Central Europe's largest colony of pug-nosed bats and offers a live camera, special guided tours, as well as the exhibition “Friends of the Night” featuring a winter cave experience.

For families and medieval enthusiasts, there are many events such as concerts, theater performances, knight dinners, and festivals. Annual highlights include the Lockenhaus Chamber Music Festival, the Dracula theater, and the Knight & Family Festival.
