Description

Discover the impressive Rusenschloss in Blaubeuren! Perched high above the valley, the ruins sit atop a rugged rock, offering a dramatic sight.

A mostly flat forest path leads you comfortably there in about 20 minutes from a parking lot – ideal for families! The best part: Admission is free, and the ruins are accessible at any time. Once at the top, you'll be rewarded with a beautiful panoramic view over the Blaubeuren valley. ⛰️

On the grounds, you can marvel at the remains of a large stone arch that once spanned a castle gorge and supported the Oberburg. An informative wooden plaque illustrates the castle in its prime and explains the function of the imposing arch. The foundations of a former residential building with an underlying vaulted cellar are also exciting witnesses to past times.
